The derelict barns at East Okewill farm were structurally repaired and restored during 2019. Most of the existing structure had collapsed in and the walls were very unstable. All the existing stone was re used to form the new facing stonework with lime mortor.
It has been rebuilt to the same design as the original barns, apart from levelling out the roofs as the original ones were running with the slope of the hillside. Modern steelwork has been incorporated within the rebuild to accommodate the upscaling in roof structures.
It will be used as multiuse outbuildings for the foreseeable future but it awaits a 2nd phase internal fit out to turn these barns into 3 potential cottages, planning permitting.
